Minutes of the HCR Club Meeting

February 1stYakima Athletic Club

Barry called the meeting to order at 7:07 pm. Members present: Barry James, Bob Dolphin, Kenn and Jean Zahn, Karen Miller, Anita Cleary, Tony Sagare, Frank Purdy, Elizabeth Tutsch, Jack Carlton.

Barry first thanked Karen and Anita for their work on the Frosty 4. Karen then showed off the awards for winners. They were awesome. Karens plans for pre-race were very organized. Shirts were an ordeal but they should be ready. There was much discussion on last minute details.

Treasurer’s report: Jean was absent. A check has been sent to the U.S. Forrest Service for the Clear Lake runs.

Membership: Membership director position is open. Our membership has slipped to 151. Members who have not renewed will be dropped from the newsletter mailing. We have been ordering over 200 newsletters and we need to cut back on that.

Newsletter: Frank is waiting until after the Frosty 4 so we can get the results in. He also said that the WRS numbers are up a little from last year. He has some new ideas for the WRS next year. We’ll be hearing more about that later. The web site has been updated as of Jan. 30th.

Social runs: 6:00 pm. Wednesday evenings at Franklin Park. These dates will be posted on the calendar soon. Saturday or Sunday long runs are still on going.

New Business: West Valley 1mile/5k race will be March 3rd. Eric will bring equipment.

Shamrock cup at LaSalle H.S. March 17th. It will be a 6K. Someone is needed to deliver the equipment to that race.

The next club meeting will be March 8th instead of the 1st as Barry and Jack have schedule conflicts.

Kenn needs dates for the Clear Lake and Sun City races for the calendar. Race dates are filling up fast.

Old Business: Barry is continuing to look into race course certification. He has his sights set on the Clear Lake runs first.

YRCM: Bob brought posters along and Karen is going to put them up at the Frosty 4. At least 50 have signed up for the marathon so far.

Meeting adjourned, 8:05pm. Respectfully submitted, Jack Carlton
