Minutes of HCR Club Meeting

February 2nd 2006 Yakima Athletic Club

Eric called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M. Members present: Eric Anderson, Stan Helmka, Kenn and Jean Zahn, Pat and Karen Miller, Barry James, Bill and Virginia Nicholson, Jean Flores, Shawnta Bush, Tony Sagare, Larry McCaw, Frank Purdy, Elizabeth Tutsch, Jack and Janis Carlton.

Shawnta, a Campfire USA volunteer, had more information on the Yakima Youth Olympics that are April 8th. They will be held at Sarge Hubbard Park. They are free for kids 12 and under. The goal is to support fitness activities and health education for our youth. A 1k kids fun run kicks it off. Then they will have Olympic field events. There will be a 5k run at 11A.M. to help fund the event. We voted as a club to sign on as a sponsor. We will donate our mailing list for this event only, and also donate our time and clock. As a sponsor our club logo will be on the shirts, we can have a table at the event an should get some good press out of it.

Elizabeth Tutsch has stepped forward to be our new fun run director. One of her ideas is to have a run-bike dualathon sometime in early spring. It can be a good training event for tri-athletes. Tony is going to check with our insurers about having such an event.

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as posted on the web site.

Treasurerís report: Tony said we had a positive cash flow for the month and that we had a profit on the Winter Race Series. Major expenses for the month were for the Frosty 4, scholarship fund, WRS expenses, and the newsletter.

Membership: Virginia said we had 10 new members for the month and total membership stands at 188.

Newsletter: Done and ready to be mailed.

Old business: Larry said it looks like we will have enough volunteers for the Frosty 4 and everything seems to be under control.

New business: Eric put it out that we need to get some volunteers for the Chinook Cycling Club Time Trial in July. They have been a good supporter of our club and we need to reciprocate.

Meeting adjourned 7:55 P.M.
