Minutes of HCR Club Meeting

March 4th 2004 Yakima Athletic Club

Eric called the meeting to order at 7:02 P.M.. Members present: Bill and Virginia Nicholson, Kenn and Jean Zahn, Eric Anderson, Stan Helmka, Frank and Pam Covelli, Larry McCaw, Tony Sagare, Frank Purdy and Jack Carlton.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

Treasurerís report: The club had a negative income for the month due mostly to Frosty 4 expenses being paid. Final figures for the Winter Race Series are in. The club made a total of $378.00. To date we have made $1,141.00 on the Frosty 4, with still more sponsorship money to come in. The club received a donation of $100.00 from the Yakima Herald Republic employees in honor of Frank Purdyís mother.

Membership: Total membership stands at 184.

Newsletter: Copies of the newsletter with the results of the Frosty 4 were sent to all participants in hopes of gaining a few new members.

Fun Runs: Fun runs are set into April. Check the calendar.

YRCM: 264 are currently registered. The last planning meeting was a good one. There was some concern about registration but it has been taken care of and everything is up to date.

New Business: The donation from the Heard Republic was discussed. Eric suggested starting some sort of scholarship fund for a local runner. Tony said he would approach a club member about heading up a committee to get it started.

Running reminders are now being sent out to those who submitted their email addresses.

It has been confirmed that Mike Pratt will not be involved in the Sun City Races except as a sponsor and offering his facilities.

Ron Fleming submitted a letter to the editor of the Heard Republic saying what a good job was done on the WRS and the Frosty 4 races and thanking the volunteers. Thanks Ron!

We have had a couple of inquiries about clock rentals for races.

Kenn went over races that he has on the calendar.

Larry suggested we sell shirts left over from previous races. Cheap! We may try to have some at the YRCM.

Old Business: Eric thanked Larry for directing the Frosty 4 and presented him with a gift certificate.

Meeting adjourned 8:02 P.M.. Respectfully submitted, Jack Carlton
