Minutes of HCR Club Meeting

July 10th, 2003 Yakima Athletic Club

Jean called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.

Members present: Jean Flores, Stan Helmka, Eric Anderson, Larry McCaw, Tony Sagare, Bill and Virginia Nicholson, Jack and Janis Carlton.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

Treasurerís Report: Tony reported little activity for the month. Major expenses were for the newsletter and club shirts for resale. We had some rental income but a net loss for the month.

Membership Report: Virginia reported 1 new member in July, 4 renewed and that she "got rid of 5". We are assuming that means they are just no longer members.

Fun runs: Larry said runs are set through October. We have the elections banquet/run and the Turkey Trot in November. Check the calendar. Fun runs are suspended in Dec., Jan., and Feb., due to the Winter Race Series and the Frosty Four. Thanks to Jim and Bill for hosting the run at their cabin in August. A good time was had but few members attended. Next year we are going to push to get better attendance at this great run.

New business: The first YRCM planning meeting was announced.

Sun City permits are in the works and a mailing will be sent out as a reminder.

Tony announced the passing of Jean Wood, a charter member of the club. Even though she lived out of town the last few years she still made a point of helping out at the Clear Lake runs. Tony made a motion that we add her name to the Clear Lake Memorial Run and make her son an honorary member. The motion passed.

Meeting adjourned 7:45 P.M. Actual business discussion took about 15 minutes. The better part of the meeting was spent listening to Larrys stories about different subjects ranging from his tangle with a train, a lady with toilet paper stuck to her shoe during Jury Duty, fighting hop vines at the Hop Festival Run, his flashing VCR time, and his something to think about (why they have braille instructions on the drive-up windows at the bank). You will have to get the full stories from him.

Respectfully submitted, Jack Carlton
