Minutes of the HCR Club Meeting

Sept. 1st, 2005 - Yakima Athletic Club

Eric called the meeting to order at 6:58 P.M., after Pat had the unveiling and set-up demonstration of the new clock stand outside. Everyone in attendance was quite impressed, and thankful that Pat had taken this long overdue project on.

Members in attendance were Eric Anderson, Kenn and Jean Zahn, Bill and Virginia Nicholson, Tony Sagare, Larry McCaw, Pat and Karen Miller, Bob and Lenore Dolphin, Stan Helmka, Frank Purdy, Gailon Gentry, Frank Covelli, Jack and Janis Carlton.

Gailon filled us in on the Tampico 5k all terrain run Sept. 17th and there was some discussion on the proposed Snipes Mountain run on Oct. 1st. Janis then read the minutes of the last meeting and they were accepted as read.

Treasurerís report: We had a net income of $8.11 for the month. Major expenses were for the newsletter. gift certificates and the new laser printer. In the next week Tony will get our financial information to and accountant.

Membership: We added 1 new member. Eric has sent e-mails to former members to urge them to rejoin. The next newsletter will have a dues renewal reminder.

Newsletter: "Its done." Frank said there is a lot of good stuff in this one. The goal is to have the newsletter printed and ready to mail by the club meeting at the first of every month. Running reminders are a work in progress and the web site has been updated as of August 31st.

Club runs: Pat said the pot luck at the Klosters was a great time. Some new faces were there. Kenn won the Vaux Shoes gift certificate for $100.00. September 22nd will be the final 6:30pm run. Check the calendar for upcoming runs. Pat also said he will be stepping down as fun run director opening the door for some new blood

New Business: Sun City races are Oct. 9th. The organization is progressing nicely. Permits and insurance has been applied for. A person is needed to be the registrar though.

Larry proposed that we donate the bulk of our left over shirts to the Red Cross for the hurricane relief effort and he was given the O.K.

Lenore gave a brief marathon update.
