Minutes of HCR Club Meeting

October 6th 2005

Yakima Athletic Club

Eric called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. Members present, Eric Anderson, Frank Covelli, Pat and Karen Miller, Kenn and Jean Zahn, Frank Purdy, Larry McCaw, Lorrie Smith, Tony Sagare, Jack and Janis Carlton, and guest Crystal Dodge and Julie Shirey.

Crystal was representing the Yakima Police Athletic League. She is coaching local kids 14 to 18 years of age in track and cross country. She informed us about her program and expressed an interest in getting her kids involved in the club races. It appears we will have several new young runners in our winter runs.

The minutes were accepted as posted on the web site.

Treasurerís report: Tony reported a net gain for the month of $490.76. As of Oct. 6th we had $1095.00 from Sun City entries.

Membership: We had 6 new members and 2 renewals for the month. As of Oct. 1st membership stands at 213. A reminder to all, November is membership renewal month.

Newsletter; Itís done. Tony did much of the prep work for mailing so there wasnít much to be done after the meeting to get them ready for mailing. There will be a new feature starting with this months newsletter which will give us a little info about a selected club member. Running reminders are out and the web site has been updated as of Oct. 2nd.

Club runs: Sept. 22nd there was a small but enthusiastic group at Ericís house. Sunday Nov. 6th will be the last official fun run of the season. It will be before the November elections meeting and pot luck at 1:00 P.M. The long runs have been going well and have actually had better participation than the club runs in most cases.

Old business: Sun City volunteers are 99% set. Lorrie was still looking for a course sweep person though. There was much discussion about the upcoming races. Excess club shirts have been donated for the hurricane victims.

New business: Winter race series dates have been tentatively set for Dec. 4th, 18th, Jan. 1st ant 14th. Same sites, same format.

Meeting adjourned &:55 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Jack Carlton
