(Unofficial notes from the meeting)

November 2, 2008

The Y.M.C.A. was the site for this years event. A special "Thank You" to Tony Sagare for arranging the use of the meeting room at the Y.

The table decorations were very nicely done by Janice Carlton, Virginia Nicolson and Jean Zahn.

As in the past, a social fun run/walk was held at 1 PM. Jack, Art, Frank, Pat, Karen, Kenn and Jean enjoyed the scenic fall foliage along Naches Avenue and the Greenway Path.

Pizza, salads, desserts and beverages were well received by all starting around 2 PM.

As all were enjoying the foods, outgoing president Barry James presented appeciation awards to the 2008 officers.

Reports were given by the various officers, the club is financially solvent, but with the end of the membership year (October 31st), only 16 memberships are paid up of the 200+ memberships. Dues are due!

The newsletter is a works in progress, but with the 'outsourcing' of the printing, labels and postal permit, it will be out more efficiently or something like that Frank indicated.

The Frosty Four Miler is in need of a race director or coordinator. Please contact Gregg if you can do so. The position is of coordination of each of the race chair persons who handle the major tasks.

MSI is making changes to the storage area the club has graciously had the use of for the last couple decades. So, a new storage site is needed. An area 8 X 8, with power, access at various times/dates to take equipment to races and return it, are the basic necessities. If you know of something, contact Gregg.

"Team in Training".

Team in Training presented to the members a great opportunity for a 'win-win' partnership. They are forming a training program in the greater Yakima area. Watch for more infomation about this excellent training program in the newsletter and on our web site. Check out what is happening at their web page: http://teamintraining.org

Lenore and Bob Dolphin presented information about the 2009 Yakima River Canyon Marathon. If you like quilts, check out the Yakima River Canyon Marathon quilt picture.

A special award of appreciation was presented to our outgoing president Barry James by our current vice president/president elect - Gregg Broyles.

A "HCR's CLUB 2008 IN REVIEW" slide show was shown. Thank you to all that contributed pictures for it. For the 2009 year, if you have pictures at races and of racers, please send a copy to Kenn (kennz@aol.com). Will be very glad to post them to the web site and use them in the 2009 yearly show.

After a lengthly campaign, chair shuffling, excessive loud speeches, frayed punch card tabs and other voting bribery, our 2009 slate of officers were nominated and elected.
