Hi Ken ~ Jeff Hashimoto suggested I contact you about a fundraising event which involves both Yakima & Kittitas counties.  I'm co-chairing Climb To Conquer Cancer at Manastash Ridge on Saturday, June 21st.  All money raised from this event goes to the American Cancer Society for research, programs and services to patients and their families.  While social hikers may leave anytime between 9 and 11 a.m., there are so many folks locally who climb The Ridge for conditioning that we added Sam's Ridge Race starting at 7:30 a.m.  The trail is 2.3 miles with 1700' elevation gain!  (The 1100' elevation gain currently listed on the website is incorrect.)

Since it's our first year and it is, after all, a fund-raiser to fight cancer, we're planning to have only male and female categories and omit the age classifications.  While we'll probably issue ribbons or some consumable prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, the real prizes will be for the individual and team that raises the most money.   Folks can register as an individual or sign up in teams of at least 5 people, thus we'll also recognize the top male and female teams by computing averages for the racers.

Would you be willing to add Climb To Conquer Cancer to your calendar so folks at least have the info?  On-line registration is at http://community.acsevents.org/ctckittitascounty

The trail head is just 4 1/2 miles southwest of I-90's Exit 106, near Ellensburg.

A sincere thank you!
