Numerous 'turkeys' showed up for the 2003 "Turkey Trot" at Sarg Hubbard Park.

The annual event is a 'predict-your-time' format for the race. Race director Larry McCaw set the course at 2.455 miles (measured with a GPS) and the 'turkeys' signed their names and predicted times. {Larry and all that helped him, deserve a special "Thank You!"}

At 1:30 P.M., the 'turkeys' and a couple dogs, were off. A loop around Sarg Hubbard Park, down the pathway along the 'reflection pond', up the hillside pathway, looped back to and over the upper bridge, down to the pathway along the dike, south along the river, into the woods, turned around and headed back to finish at the Sarg Hubbard Park-river pathway intersection. The run was under overcast sky, with the temperature about 35 degrees.

The closest male and female to their predicted times received turkeys (frozen) and the two who missed their times by the most received 'hind-quarters'. (see pictures)

Beverages and munchies, including 'energy disks' (Oreo's) were available for all.

Individuals and times should be posted in the newsletter.
